Chick's Hardware Bow Out
Times are tough for hardware review sites of late and they're even worse if you've got little or no spare time to work with. Chick's Hardware add their name to the list of sites calling it a day.

Due to a few factors, not least a lack of time to post news, review products, and negotitate with companies (those left afloat these days..) there will not be anything new appearing on ChicksHardware.com in the forseable future. We are now all at uni of some sort at separate unis and still talk, but we can't spare the time to keep the site up properly, it's all or nothing. Our @chicksharware.com e-mail accounts have been suspended so you won't be able contact us via them, although we were recieving spam on a hotmail scale by the time they were stopped.

ATi Radeon 9700 Pro
It didn't live up to its own hype in terms of raw 3D gaming grunt but as Hardware Mania discovered there's more to Parhelia than just gaming.

Parhelia’s 256bit DDR Rams operates at 275 MHz. and offers a memory bandwidth of 17.6 GB/s. This rate is 8.8 GB/s in GeForce 4 which also operates at 275 MHz. but uses 128bit DDRs. Moreover, the sub controllers, fast Z-Buffer Clear and specialized buffer memories increase the efficiency of Ram bandwidth.

HighPoint RocketRAID 404 Review
Techware Labs have posted their review of the Highpoint RocketRAID controller.

IDE Raid is becoming more and more popular as a user-end solution for those who demand better hard disk performance or better data security at a low cost. RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks, coined from a paper written in 1987 at the University of California Berkeley. The author suggested the use of smaller, inexpensive disks to replace single, larger disks to implement "fault-tolerant data redundancy." Up to five standards were originally defined, and the two of these which are actually used today are RAID 1 and RAID 5.

BlindWrite Suite Review
CD Freaks are testing out the BlindWrite Suite from VSO Software. Designed to combine fast, effective burning with the advantages of CloneCD it offers the best of both worlds.

The BlindWrite Suite comprises a set of software tools that can be used to reproduce any CD, even protected ones. It is a product of VSO Software, which is also the developer of CopyToCD. Actually, technically speaking, BlindWrite Suite (BWS) consists of two parts; BlindRead (BR) and BlindWrite (BW). BR is used to make a perfect image of the CD you want to backup, while BW actually burns the CD image to give you a working backup.

Dynatron 80mm Case Fan Review
OverclockersClubCanada has finished a review on Dynatron's 80mm Case Fan (you can review a case fan?). Heres a quote:

I received a fan today that was, oddly, not wrapped in any individual packaging whatsoever, but it was part of a whole package, so I guess that would save them from having to use another box that would only get recycled. After looking at the label I found out that it is manufactured by Dynatron Corporation, using their own Top Motor technology. Although this is the first time that I heard of this name *gasp* I quickly found out that they have a very strong reputation in high quality cooling solutions.
