Volcano 9 "Coolmod" - An Athlon XP Bites the Dust
The smell of silicon death fills the air as PCREVIEWSPOT end up with one fried XP 1600+. Actually they didn't mention any smell so I guess they could have just crushed the core?

I'm extremely shocked and dissapointed with this. Now I'm going to have to turn up with a Athlon XP 1600+ from somewhere, fast, because no it wasn't even mine, it was my sisters'. I'm not saying that this reflects Thermaltakes reputation, it was my personal experience, and possibly the CPU could have fried independently of the HSF, but I doubt it. Another XP bites the dust.

Intel 845GE Chipset Review
Tweakers Australia has just posted a review of the latest DDR chipset from Intel, the 845GE. Here's a snip:

Well now that Intel has finally stepped into the light, official support for DDR333 has made its way into these new chipsets, along with a few other improvements as well. Along with the release of the three new DDR chipsets, Intel also provided an updated version of the 850E RDRAM chipset for the P4, incorporating support for dual-channel PC1066 that was recently validated by Intel. Today however, we will be looking at the 845GE chipset in detail, and comparing it to the former 845G chipset, along with the 845E and 850E chipsets.

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
Explosive Labs get to play with some hardware that with any luck won't explode, not in a literal sense at least. Check out their review of the ATi Radeon 9700 Pro.

The ATI Radeon 9700 Pro just shouts out "sleek and stylish" with its bright red PCB board. This was a welcome surprise and something well in waiting, as ATI has not been one to design in "aesthetically appealing" mantra. The outputs on this card are your standard VGA connector for a CRT monitor, as well as an S-Video port for connection to a TV, and a DVI-I port for your flat panel display, thus giving you dual monitor support.

Thermaltake HardCano 5
Overclocker Warehouse have the Thermaltake HardCano 5 on the bench. We had one or two quality control problems with our unit but that could be just bad luck.

Today we take a look at Thermaltake’s highest member of the HardCano series, the HardCano 5. It's clearly aimed at the more hardcore user/overclocker, cramming hard drive cooling, fan speed control and temperature monitoring into a reasonably priced little package.

RedHat 8.0 Review
If you're thinking of giving Linux a try G3D have taken a look at RedHat 8.0.

I was first introduced to the Linux operating system almost a year ago. I don't think I first tried it because I wanted something new. I didn't really even hate Windows as a product. No, I made the switch as a matter of principle. How dare MS charge $500 (Canadian) for an operating system? I have to pay $500 dollars just to use my computer? I already paid a grand for it, now I have to buy Windows before I can even use it? That's just not fair.
