KT400, and RAID on board. We bring it up close and personal
and let you see what is under the hood.

Darth Vader PC
|
|
What in God's name motivates people to spend so much time
and effort on these things? Maybe it's my age! BurnOutPC
share with us their "Darth Vader" mod.
|
|
The Via EPIA Mini-ITX motherboards are so small they
are natural candidates for unique and wonderful "case
mods". I've been rolling ideas around in my head
since the boards were first introduced. This last weekend
I created my first EPIA based project PC - the Darth Vader
PC.

Gainward Ultra650 GF4 TI4200
|
|
HWGuru have Gainward's Ultra/650 Ti4200 on the bench.
With 3.5ns RAM they're expecting some nice overclocking
action!
|
|
The standard Ti4200 memory on the 64meg models is 4ns,
which translates to the 500mhz DDR memory speed. However
in typical Gainward stylee they incorporate faster 3.5ns
ram, which gives us a potential of 571mhz! Some serious
overclocking should be possible then!

NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 Shootout
|
|
nV News take a look at two of the new steroid pumped Ti4200
cards, the Abit GeForce4 Ti 4200 OTES and the EK Argos
GeForce4 Ti 4200 "Special Edition".
|
|
From its initial appearance in April of 2002, the NVIDIA
GeForce4 Ti 4200 has been recognized as having one of
the best price/performance ratio of any graphics card
on the market. Months later with the introduction of the
GeForce FX chipset, the GeForce4 Ti 4200 looks to be positioned
for an additional drop in price which would certainly
qualify this card as the bargain of a lifetime.

Tweaks - The Definitive Guide
|
|
Overclockers.com have what they're billing a "definitive
guide" posted on tweaking your machine. In reality
it falls a long way short of being definitive but there
are some useful tips and links.
|
|
PCs always run faster after a re-format and clean Windows
install; however, this doesnt mean that you have
to keep re-formatting - just dont install programs
which you never use and have another machine to test out
the programs first. This way your registry wont
clog up.

Swiftech MCW478-UHT Thermoelectric Cooler
|
|
If that impressive sounding headline hasn't piqued your
interest then you probably don't need one. ExtremeMhz
has reviewed the Swiftech MCW478-UHT Thermoelectric Cooler
|
|
Shooting for a maximum overclock with that shiny new
CPU you just purchased, or looking to get the most out
of that worn processor you have had for some time now,
but hit a dead end? Is that P4 which supposedly runs cooler
than AMD solutions keeping you from reaching your overclocking
goals? It could very well be time for you to consider
entering into the next level of cooling; better yet, the
next level of extreme cooling

Jab-Tech Chieftech Dragon Aluminum Modded Case
|
|
3dXtreme check out the Jab-Tech Chieftech Dragon Aluminum
Modded Case, ne of the few cases that pulls off heavy
drool factor without sacrificing its superb functionality.
|
|
This new case is based on the same design with the exception
of the case being made of Aluminum instead of steel. The
Chieftech Dragon was a very cool case even before the
mods. Add to a great case two windows and three fans and
you begin to understand my overwhelming excitement....

ASUS A7V8X KT400 Motherboard Review
|
|
Hexus are hitting on the ASUS A7V8X KT400 motherboard.
This one's stuffed full of features but what about performance?
|
|
Like other top tier KT400 boards, the ASUS A7V8X is packed
with I/O ports - almost a port for every device out there:
USB 2, Firewire, 6 channel Audio, Digital Audio In/Out,
LAN, Serial ATA, RAID and the usual PS/2, parallel, serial
and game ports. The LAN port isn't your usual common garden
100mbit port, but something far better.

Soltek SL-85DR3 (Intel 845PE) Motherboard Review
|
|
3dXtreme sent word that they've posted their Soltek SL-85DR3
(Intel 845PE) Motherboard Review.
|
|
The Soltek SL-85DR3 is built on Soltek's Glacier PCB
making it very tempting to hardcore enthusiasts with a
case window with it's only lacking feature being the onboard
LAN option. The Soltek SL-85DR3 has earned a score of
9 for it's performance during testing, the incredible
bundle, impressive value and it's stability.
