52X Roundup Vol.1
Judging by the reinforced tray front Plextor are already a little nervous about the 48X recording standard so you wouldn't catch me putting a scratched disk in one of the batch of 52X centifuges reviewd by CDR-Info.

Many manufacturers currently ship 48X-recording solutions, while the next generation of 52X recorders make its appearance in the market. Users are wondering about the need of such high recording speeds, while its already hard enough to find high recording speed certified CD-R media. The writing quality and the wide media compatibility is probably one of the most important features of the upcoming 52X recorders.

Performance Plus 660AMG
Some seem to love the design, others hate it, but once you've used an Antec case the others tend to pale by comparison. Envy News test out the new, improved Performance Plus 660AMG.

The Antec Performance Plus 660AMG is considered a mini tower, but if you put it next to a mid-tower case, it’s nearly the same size minus one 5¼ drive bay, which isn’t missed much by most everyone. What it does have is ample interior room for 3 Hard drives (4 if you don’t use both of the 3½ floppy drive bays), and some extra room for a total of 4 case fans (2 included). Other neat features include the lockable door handle which keeps the side panel (with integrated intake fan) closed even without the usual three screws, and to keep it sturdy on the ground it has the requisite 4 rubber feet.

Gigabyte GA-8SG667
Gigabyt'e SiS 648 driven GA-8SG667 is on the bench over at PC Hardware and despite the lack of high end features they were pretty impressed.

The motherboard's layout is quite good, except for the ATX power source connector which is not placed very inspired near the rear motherboard connectors. The SiS 648 chip is passive cooled by a medium sized heatsink. Near the fifth PCI slot and the IDE connectors there are the two additional headers which connect four on-bracket USB ports. The headers position is good for airflow maximization, but not the easiest to work with. Fortunately you won’t have to play with these headers too often. The motherboard uses the ITE IT8700F I/O controller which is able to control three FAN speeds beside the traditional I/O tasks. There are only two fan headers on GA-8G667 and only one is close to the CPU socket.

Samsung SyncMaster 152B reviewed
Dan of Dan's Data homes in on the Samsung SyncMaster 152B LCD monitor.

LCDs show you their whole panel, so their size specs are honest; you get the viewable diagonal that's indicated on the box. But a 15 inch LCD still has less than 90% of the screen area of a "17 inch" CRT, and that CRT will cost you from about $AUD2.50 to about $AUD5.50 per square inch, depending on whether you buy a thoroughly OK medium-range 17 incher, or a flashy big-brand model. The cheaper screens are much better value, if you ask me; Samsung also make some excellent low-cost CRTs.

ASUS A7N8X nForce2 Mainboard Review
OC Workbench have taken a look at the full retail version ASUS A7N8X nForce2. It was the pre-production version of this board that AMD chose to ship with their XP2700+ and 2800+ CPUs.

At last, we have a chance to review the nForce2 board. This board that just arrive in our labs is not a reference board but the retail packaged ASUS A7N8X !! As you know, we reviewed a lot of KT333 and the recent KT400s. Although the KT400 claims unofficial support of DDR400, we always can't get it to run steadily. Well, look like nVIDIA has a solution for that. On top of that, you can also operate in Dual Memory Channel to enhance the performance even further (even at DDR400!!). That is something we are about to find out in the next few pages of the review.

Installing Windows XP Pro vs. Red Hat Linux 8.0
And now time for a refreshing change of pace as EliteGuild tackle the slightly daunting task of comparing two very different operating systems.

Once setup had all the required information, it got busy. Twenty-five minutes later found me in a giddy state as I explored my new operating system. For the several days I played with Linux, it ran steady as a rock, albeit slightly sluggish in my opinion. However, a little more tweaking would probably take care of that.

And while you're over there why not check out their review of Xoxode's Crystal LED fans.

Crystal LED Fans Review from Xoxide

LED products are at an all time high in case lighting. With new products coming out everyday, it's almost hard to keep up really. While these particular fans have been around for a while, in terms of computer other product launches based on LED Fans, I'll score them without bias to other new LED Fan products that are out there now.
