Gameloft Launch New Hi-Hop Online Game

Music with hip-hop dance beat plays the driving force behind the sequel to the popular DJ Nights web-based game.

Following the runaway success of DJ Nights (the first Internet strategy game about the life of a DJ), Gameloft.com is set to launch the long-awaited sequel DJ Nights: The Hip-Hop Sessions in February 2001. Hip-Hop Sessions continues to build the DJ Nights heritage. The game features new music, new characters and backgrounds and gameplay enhancements. Utilising a unique game engine, Hip-Hop Sessions has been exclusively developed to capture hip-hop lifestyle at its best.

Familiar with the strong fan base of hip-hop, GameLoft has collaborated with team of talented musicians to create fresh new rhythms specifically for the sequel. Creatively, the music styles range from Turntablism, Electro Hip-Hop, Moody Hip-Hop and Vocal Hip-Hop. After some selective reprogramming, new music was incorporated into the game. The new tracks, combined with the addition of new in-game characters and graphics have increased the overall street culture and infectious ambience of the game.

In response to customer feedback based on the first DJ Nights game, GameLoft have carefully upgraded the gameplay. Players can now listen to the tracks BEFORE they buy them.

With the two games, DJ Nights and DJ Nights: The Hip-Hop Sessions; GameLoft offers two distinct music games that provide hours of free online entertainment. In addition to the hip-hop beats, the sequel includes a wide range of techno music including hardcore, house, trance and drum 'n' bass.

DJ Nights is the first Internet DJ concept of it's kind, forging new ground as the first online strategy and role-playing game in the DJ realm. The gameplay is realistic and fun that it will appeal to hardcore gamers, discerning DJs, and music enthusiasts who are genuinely interested in latest developments in underground dance music culture.

"At Gameloft, we are exploring new ways to combine music, games and the Internet," Says Paul Smyth, GameLoft.co.uk's Marketing and Business Development Manager. "When we originally conceived the DJ culture concept for the game, we instinctively realised this would give us an opportunity to do something totally new and unique. Hip-Hop Sessions will now give PC users and music fans a chance to experience club culture on the web."
