High Performance PC Silencing

Quiet PC "hear yourself think"

Case prep continued: Quiet feet

These are a very innovative idea, squishy rubber feet that adhere with a very gummy adhesive. The idea here is that the vibrations from the drives and other moving parts of your PC travel through your case which is usually sitting on hard plastic feet, which act as a bridge for vibration to travel to the floor, causing more noise. Quiet feet promise to absorb the vibration before it gets that far. They come in three sizes depending on the weight of your case. I will use the medium size here as this is an average project. Full details and specs can be found on QuietPC's website.

Here are the three sizes of Quiet Feet

They are like overgrown Gummi Bears with felt pads attached to them. Very squishy, good for isolating vibration.

Installation is a snap, just peel and stick. Now vibration will be absorbed here rather than transfered to the floor.

Honestly, while these are a unique approach, and very innovative, the seeming instability that comes from squish rubber feet makes me a bit uneasy. The case now wobbles as if sitting in a bowl of geletain. I'll have to trust that the noise reduction is worth it here. Fortunately this computer is in a corner of the dungeon so there is little risk of getting bumped.

Lets look at Power Supply options...
