The 4PDA2+ comes dripping with extra
bolt-ons designed to get the true enthusiast's pulse
racing, let's run through a few of them.
I suppose one of the most distingushing
features of any Epox board is the P80P
Diagnostic LED. Compared
to the "talking BIOS" error warnings that
are beginning to appear it's a fairly crude way of
displaying specific error codes but it works and at
the end of the day that's all it needs to do.
HPT372 UDMA / ATA 133 RAID Controller
The HPT372N is a PCI 2-channel Ultra
DMA/ATA133 RAID Controller. It complies with PCI2.2
Spec, and supports up to 133MB/Sec PCI data transfer
rates. The HPT372 is fully backward compatible with
all ATA devices - including Ultra DMA/ATA100,66, 33
and EIDE Fast ATA-2. The HPT 372 co-exists with a
motherboard's standard IDE ports, adding two additional
IDE controllers to the system. The HPT372N supports
RAID 0 and 1 (striping and mirroring) and 0+1.
Sil 3112 SATALink PCI Host Controller
The flagship of Silicon Image's new
SATALink™ product family, the Sil 3112. Featuring
a 32-bit 33/66 MHz PCI interface, the Sil 3112 supports
two independent Serial ATA devices. The Sil3112 also
offers software RAID 0 and 1 (striping and mirroring).
