Introduction
:
A
case is a case is a case right? Hell no! there are good cases
and there are bad cases. Some look good from the outside, but
are built from flimsy steel just waiting to rip your hands to
shreds as soon as you venture inside. Others are built like
small armoured personnel carriers but have a cramp inducing
number of screws to drive out before you even get a glimpse
of the internal space.
When
choosing a case, we all have our own agenda, but without a doubt
we all want a case that looks good. It's no use having the latest
and greatest components in a case that yells "cheap"
at you from the other side of the room.
Even
where looks are concerned, there seems to be two distinct camps.
There's the curvy, almost sexy looking case that has elegance
written all over it, then there's the hard lined agressive looking
case that seems to attract the hobbyists and overclockers. The
701v falls very firmly into the first category.
First
impressions are that this is a simple yet elegant case, with
clean lines and uncomplicated good looks, and to be fair, this
would probably be enough to immediately put this case onto our
shopping list. But as we're about to discover, this simple beauty
packs a punch that belies its innocent appearance.
