Sandra MAX 3 SiSoft Sandra is a world known
application to benchmark your system's performance and instantly compare it to
generic setups that have already been benchmarked and supplied as results. Each
result is selectable after the benchmark has completed giving you an easy way
of selecting the closest match to your system. Apologies in
advance. Due to all the result compares not being the same in my print captures,
I thought it was best to not show the screen captures as they may give the wrong
impression on performance. Instead, the results have been shown in a graph to
give a realistic performance comparison. 
Compared
to the onboard alternatives, the Promise controller finds it hard to gain as many
points. This could be down to the Promise controller not being integrated into
the mainboard but going via the PCI slot, which could be showing a slight bottleneck.
Saying that, the score is still respectable! It would be interesting to see what
the onboard version would show to confirm the hindrance on the PCI slot. |
