3DVelocity wish to thank SiS for providing this card for review.

The Card

Here is the card in all its beauty. The SiS model comes with a large Purple HSF with built in fan. The HSF covers all of the ram sinks too (although doesnt cover the entire surface of them), which helps to keep the card nice and cool.

One thing SiS havent cooled are the memory chips on the back of the card. This will limit the overclocking amount and makes the front HSF seem pointless on covering the ram sinks on the front.

The Xabre400 comes with 3 outputs. 1 x DVI, 1 x SVHS and 1x VGA.....

....which is controlled by the SiS 301 chip shown below

Taking off the HSF you see the Xabre chip in all its glory. The HSF is only stuck on with standard pins and the thermal solution is the standard that you would find on any HSF you buy from the shops. An improvement would to have AS or similar for better heat transfer between the chips and the HSF

A close up of one of the memory chips. The chips used are hynix 3.3ns running at 250Mhz (500MHZ DDR)
