SiSoft Sandra 2004:::...
I
decided to use the CPU Arithmetic, CPU Multimedia,
Memory Bandwidth and Memory and Cache benchmarks so
as to cover all aspects of the platforms performance.
As
can be seen here, the 3400+ pulls away drastically
from the XP3200+ in terms of performance, the differences
in performance are huge!
Looking
at these results does bring into question what has
happened, as the XP3200+ actually scores marginally
better in the ‘Integer’ scores. Although looking at
the other results of the other compared CPUs, it does
look more of a problem with Sandra than anything else.
The
memory bandwidth here whilst being very nice, and
high performing, seems wrong; again I’ll put it down
to the software.

These
results here show that the 3400+ really comes into
it’s own once it passes the 512kB stage of the benchmark.
Once it hits this stage, it REALLY outshines the XP3200+!
