Part Five: Drivers...

Nvidia have a generally sound reputation for drivers but I still felt it important to test these drivers in all the games I had at my disposal.

As I mentioned briefly before, the presentation of the drivers was immaculate. Abit have gone to a lot of trouble to emboss a true sense of brand upon these drivers (v.21.83). Det' 4 performance straight from the box is also a welcome inclusion and generally these drivers behaved themselves in all situations but one....

Now I'm guessing you can see what the problem was. Just where has the pitch gone in FIFA 2002? This effect occurred in games with the weather enabled and on a rainy day only. Upon downloading the 23.10 drivers from nVidia the pitch reappeared, a small but no less annoying quirk if, like me, you expect full compatibility out of the box.

General performance in games was excellent though with many top titles like RTCW, AVP2, Max Payne, Half-life etc. all running very smoothly indeed. Overall I was very impressed with the drivers offered with the ti200 from Abit, just be aware if you are a FIFA fan that you may need to get downloading sooner rather than later!

Time to view those benchmarks, lets see what the ti200 can do for your 3D gaming enjoyment...
