SOUNDFONT Bank Manager

Organizer
The
MediaSource organizer is a very flexible and powerful
way to sort, store and access your music collections
and as such it can be a little confusing at first.
Stick with it though, it can be worthwhile. Also incorporated
are CD Burning and ripping functions and a vast array
of options such as scheduled database backups, multiple
record and ripping formats and bitrates, CDDB
support, Auto Recording Volume Limiter (ARVL), Smart
Volume Management (SVM) and record sync to name but
a few.

And
of course there's the DVD-Audio player which is a
rather simplistic little offering that has the feel
of a last minute add-on. There's very little data
displayed with no track names or time elapsed/remaining
counter. One unusual problem I noticed was that occasionally
opening the player, carrying out certain tasks in
Windows Explorer or even ejecting a DVD would sometimes
cut the auxiliary input to which I had a TV card connected.
This might be a problem with the TV card drivers however.

Last up comes a useful
little diagnostic routine that I would imagine is
more for peace of mind than a valid troubleshooter.
The information may also be some help to the tech
support guys/gals and there's a comprehensive list
of contact details here too.

Most
of the commonly used functions are accessible from
the little Icon that gets placed in your task bar
(arrowed below) though quite why the diagnostics utility
needed to be here is a mystery and it doesn't demonstrate
a lot of faith on Creative's part in their own drivers.
It's a minor point but you'll notice Creative have
the whole Windows XP alpha blend deal happening with
the menus.
