To
get to the innards of the 8008-B3 it's first necessary to
remove the top panel. While this initially seems like a
pain it does mean just a single thumbscrew can be made to
secure both side panels, and a single padlock can be used
to lock both side panels.
There's
probably room to fit a low-profile 80mm fan between the
removable top panel and the panel beneath it should you
want, though there's plenty of room to mount one inside
anyway.
Once
inside the case the first job is to fish out the giblets.
The inclusion of three stereo jack to twin phono cables
is a really nice touch and great for connecting to your
external amp or hifi equipment.
The
bag of bits comes with screws, felt washers and brass motherboard
standoffs.
Inside,
things are fairly mundane. Commendable the 3.5" drive
cage stretches right down to the case floor making room
for up to seven drives.

The
supplied power supply looks surprisingly good on the face
of it, but when you buy a case with integral power supply
for less than most standalone power supplies cost you just
know you're not getting prime hardware. To its credit, it
does come cooled by a very quiet 120mm fan and offers a
very reasonable 25Amps on the +12v rail. It also seems to
have a line soldered to the front panel which means you'll
need to do a little cable chopping and joining if you want
to change it.

There
are 6x 4-pin Molex connectors, a single floppy connector,
a 4-pin auxiliary connector and the main 20-pin ATX power
connector. There's no provision for PCIe use, for EPS12V
use (24-pin ATX) or for SLI use which is hardly surprising
given the cost.

There's
room for two 80mm fans on the rear of the case...

And a further two at the front behind the drive cage..or
is that in front of the drive cage?

The
only fan actually supplied sits at the top of the case,
which, if you're only going to supply one fan, kind of makes
sense.

The
inside is generally very competently done with edges rolled
and folded. Alignment seemed very good when it came to assembling
a system in the case.
You'd
not expect to find any clever tool-less drive retention
mechanisms or quick-release drive cages at this price, and
there aren't any, but for the target media-focussed user
this isn't likely to be a deal breaker.
