The first few tests
were carried out on the very nice A8N-SLI Deluxe from ASUS
which we'd had in for our review of the Athlon X2.

This
came equipped with a full 1GB of Corsair's XMS 3200Pro running
at 2-2-2-5.
As I had them assembled for our X2 and FX57 reviews and had a a few minutes left before they had to be packed up for return, I wanted to run a couple of game benchies on the X2-4800+ and an Athlon64 4000+. The Multitasking
results were a result of running ScienceMark 2 in the background and, if this seems like an odd test, it's because the numbers were part of our X2 review.
Doom
III :::...

One of the most disappointing games releases of last year for me personally, but undoubtedly a great favourite amongst others and the engine that will spur a thousand new titles. That alone makes it an important title to benchmark.

Far
Cry :::...

At totally the opposite end of the spectrum as far as my enjoying playing it, Far
Cry was one of my personal faves of recent times. Great graphics were spoilt by slightly dodgy compatibility, but it still rates alongside Half Life and a few others as one of the all-time greats for me.
