Dell
always delivers its products in plain boxes, no fun there.
The boxes are sort of divided into 2 sections. One section
contains the case packed in Styrofoam and the other section
is another box with the accessories for the computer in
it.
This is what the Optiplex computer looks like unpacked.
This
is the machine opened up, showing the unusual Dell clamshell
case.

There is a custom sort of rail system for the hard disks
and optical drives.
The casing houses some more of those rails, in case you
want to add more hard disks and or optical drives.

Dell
uses green plastic parts where certain items can be (easily)
removed, the rail system is green but so is the backplane
"lid", making it easy to insert or remove cards,
hard disks and optical drives.

Around
the processor is another green plastic bit, this shroud
is to direct the airflow from the processor to the fan,
which then blows it outward.
