Part Two: Performance and
Conclusion
Here are some benchmarks
taken under Sandra 2002.
As you can see, it can read at around 1MB/s and
writes around 62% of that. At 62.1megs, it'll take around 1min
to fill up, which isn't that bad. It beats the floppy and zip
drive with ease. Maybe in the future, we'll see a USB 2.0 version
of this disk which will rival the speed of current hard drives
Conclusion
Pros:
Small, portable, can be used on almost any computer with a USB
port
Can boot on some motherboards with BIOS that supports it
Some versions of the disk on key comes with KeySafe, a program
that can encrypt folders and files so that only you can access
it.
Perfect for transferring MP3s and documents around the office.
Cons:
Storage space of 128MB max isn't alot these days, but bigger
capacity versions will be released
A little bit pricey but then again, most new technologies are.
(Remember when it was $400 for a cd burner?)
USB 2.0 would have been very nice
