Performance :

Before we get in to the benchmarks, I thinks I should mention this card's 2D image quality. NVIDIA are not fabled for their 2D prowess in the same way perhaps Matrox or ATi are, but the 350MHz RAMDAC actually does a pretty good job. At resolutions up to 1600x1200 on a 21inch monitor I was generally impressed and wouldn't really put the Gladiac far behind the two companies I just mentioned.

The 350MHz RAMDAC allows for the following resolutions/refresh rates.

Resolution refresh rates with
  256 colors (8 bit) 65K colors (16 bit) 16,7 million colors (32 bit)
2048 x 1536 60– 75 60– 75 60– 75
1900 x 1440 60– 85 60– 85 60– 85
1600 x 1200 60–120 60–120 60–100
1280 x 1024 60–170 60–170 60–150
1024 x 768 60–200 60–200 60–200
800 x 600 60–200 60–200 60–200
640 x 480 60–200 60–200 60–200

The following test rig was used for benchmarking :

Epox 8KHA+ Motherboard ( "Turbo" system performance parameters used)
AMD Athlon XP1800+
256MB Kingmax PC2100 DDR SDRAM
40GB ATA-100 HDD
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy Sound
