Performance Benchmarks :
NBench :
I'm sure most of you are familiar with this one
by now. NBench was created by AMD to benchmark AMD processors
and although this leaves them open to accusations that it's
optimised for AMD platforms I've yet to see any evidence of
this. In fact, it looks just as terrible on Intel platforms
as it does AMD. Forget the dated looking graphics though, it
still works your CPU and graphics card so it's still a valid
benchmark.

Here's a quick comparison with the results from
Creative's 3DBlaster Ti500.

Final Reality :
This DirectX 5 benchmark makes little or no use
of many of today's advanced graphics tricks and tweaks and provides
a good look at retro compatibility and power.

A slightly strange result here that I'm struggling
to explain. What I can explain is that both cards shown ran
the benchmark with no problems at all and visual quality appeared
identical, as expected. To make the result even stranger, the
bulk of the difference in score came from the "3D Performance"
portion of the score. Very strange!
