Performance Benchmarks :
Quake3 Arena Timedemo 001 :
Okay, time for the one most of you are no doubt
waiting for. This was run at maximum sliders (quality) and the
scores reflect the fact that MIP levels were set for best performance
is evident in these framerates. 88.9fps at 1600x1200-32bit is
simply incredible for a card at this price point. For all but
the most graphics heavy scenes at the highest of resolutions,
the 721 will cut through your games like a hot knife through
butter.

If you were at all concerned that opting for a
Ti200 over the more expensive Ti500 would mean sacrificing performance
in your favourite FPS, it should be clear from these results
that unless you're pushing for the ridiculous such as 4xAA at
1600x1200, you should be perfectly well served by 721.
GL Excess :
Still a firm favourite at 3DVelocity, GL Excess is a fully
featured OpenGL benchmark that kicks out some of the most
consistent scores around. 12 different "scenes"
are run with really quite impressive eye candy considering
the size of the download and the scores split into four distinct
categories. For reasons that should be obvious, CPU/FPU scores
shouldn't vary a great deal unless you change you CPU between
runs.

Certainly off the pace of the Ti500 based cards
but at little more than half the price that shouldn't come as
a major surprise. In fact, the numbers hide that fact that the
framerates remained silky smooth and overall this was a very
strong performance.
The quick comparison below shows that even aginst
its big brother, the 921DVI Ti500, the 721 remains very competitive.
