Part Nine: Direct X Performance [2]

MadOnion's recently released 3DMark 2001 SE comes with full Windows XP and Direct X 8.1 support. How will the Ti4200 fair against the Radeon in this tough benchmark?

(Results Expressed In '3DMarks')

If we consider again the lower clock settings of the Ti4200, it's a true testament to nVidia's GF4 design that the Radeon is once again outpaced at all resolutions. Nearly notching up ten thousand 3DMarks at the default resolution (1024x768) is another excellent result. Even high resolution gameplay will trouble this card little. It's strange to think of a card, more than capable at 1600x1200, now available for under $200!

3DMark 2001 is an excellent benchmark without question, but to make absolutely sure our cards are more than capable we will run them through two of the toughest current games over the next two pages...
