The Box:::...

Don't throw the box away! There's room for a small group of homeless people and their pets inside there, this despite the fact that the products are shoehorned in with great aplomb.

Before you hold the official handing-over ceremony though, get those homeless people round to help you drag the box inside because it weighs as much as a small family saloon car, well, in excess of 30Kg anyway, and unless your lifting technique is good you risk popping a disk.

S750 Box

Break open the box and it's hard not to just sit and look for a little while. That might be partly to do with knowing what a hassle it's going to be getting eight speakers and a controller wired and positioned though.

The Kit

Compared to Logitech's Z560 satellite the S750's look rather lackluster. I wasn't expecting flash but these are perhaps a little understated for my taste. They'd be great in my living room but for the PC I'd sooner they had a touch more "edge" or "attitude".

Satellite Speaker

The satellites can be wall mounted or left freestanding either as they are or with the addition of the supplied stands. Round the back there are no gold-plated banana connectors or binding posts, just regular guillotine connections which do at least let you easily replace the speaker cable I suppose.

Satellite Speaker Rear View

The stands are really sleek and beautifully made. They sit on god, chunky rubber feet that should do a good job of isolating vibration and keeping them right where you put them.

Satellite Stand Pads

Just a single knob securely attaches bracket to speaker. It's a touch large and clumsy looking but easy to grip and, being round the back, rarely seen.

Satellite Speaker Rear View

Still no adjustable angle facility unfortunately which is a shame considering how directional the built in tweeters are. I don't mean necessarily to angle them so they point right at you, but sometimes to angle them up or down away from you to take the edge off some of the brighter sounds. It depends what you've listening to of course.

Satellite With Stand Fitted

The matt black brackets really do look stylish and do a lot to get rid of that "big deal" feeling I got when I first saw the satellite without them.

Satellite With Stand Fitted

A large support sits under the base and this is isolated from the speaker with a small rubber pad. I'm not convinced this was the best way to do things as most thin pads like this tend to compress and get quite hard in time but maybe these are different.
