The
centre speaker can be adapted for use on top of your monitor
by adding a monitor stand. This tips the speaker forward
slightly so it fires down towards the listening position
rather than up into empty space as it would otherwise.

I'd
have preferred a strip of Velcro for use on top of the monitor
but that's easy enough to find.

The
control pod allows full control of each sound channel individually
either manually or with the supplied remote.

Most of the buttons on top are self-explanatory with possible
exception to the one labeled "Upmix". What this
does is to create a full 7.1 channels of sound from a 5.1
or 6.1 channel source using their proprietary CMSS (Creative
Multi-Speaker Surround) technology.

Volume
levels are relayed using a rather basic looking 7 level
LED scale which looks and feels pretty primitive. An M-Port
connector allows for direct connection of M-port equipped
Creative products such as their NOMAD MuVo MP3 player.
There
are also 3.5" line in and headphone jacks accessible
from the front.

The
supplied remote is about as basic as they come but all the
important functions are there.

Little
things impress me and loved the hinged battery compartment
door. This is probably partly fueled by the number of times
I've lost these covers off my other remotes and though it
probably won't take a lot of punishment before the hinge
breaks I like it while it lasts.
