Menus:::...

The main control menu is comprised of nine sub-menus as listed below. Being so tiny it's hard to get an accurate photo of how the screens appear and to be fair the images don't really do the display justice. That's not to say it's pin-sharp, at this size that would be some technical challenge, but it's certainly not as grainy as it appears in these shots.

LCD SET - allows you to set the screen brightness, though why they refer to it as LCD I'm not sure.

Setting options are Brightness, Power Saving Level 1 (display dims after 5 seconds), Power Saving Level 2 (display switches off after 5 seconds) and Reset.

RECORD SET - Allows you to specify high quality WAV or lower quality ASF recording format.

EQ SET - Lets you specify the type of equalizer settings applied. Options are Normal, Dbb (Bass Boost), Pop, Disc, Classic and jazz.

REPEAT SET - lets you specify the type of repeat option you'd like. Options are Normal, Repeat one, Repeat All and Intro.

LANGUAGE SET - lets you specify the operating language. Options are English, China GB, China BG and Load Font,

DISK MANAGE - offers some fairly basic disk management options like Delete File, Memory Info (memory total size and capacity remaining), Format -H and Format-L

READ BOOK - A simple text file reader that, in theory at least, allows you to read just about any text-based information including books.

FM RADIO - As the name suggests, this is where you activate and tune the integral FM Radio. Two modes can be set, listen mode and search mode. The tuner operates from 87.5 to 108MHz.

MY PICTURE - This is simply the folder where from which you can access your pictures and the animated slide shows you may have created with the supplied software.

You may have seen mention of a "3D Stereo Sound Effect" in the specs on page one, but if it exists it's always on as I couldn't find a setting option for it.
