In
all sincerity the ICY BOX is a good looking piece of kit.
The matt aluminium casing with shiny "ICY BOX"
etched, or more accurately not etched in the side make it
look rather swish. Eight knurled thumbscrews secure the
two side panels in place.

The
clear plastic stand allows you to position the unit vertically,
probably the better option as none of the thumbscrews
come with rubber pads to stop it skidding all over the
place if you lie it down horizontally. I'm sure a small
pack of four rubber self adhesive disks wouldn't have
cost a fortune.

On
the edges of the ICY BOX is a black mesh behind which
is a concave silvered reflector, while the back panel
features the power switch, power supply connector and
USB data port.

And
I've already mentioned the clear plastic stand but for those
of you who care for such things, here it is in more detail.
I got a little puzzled by the arrow on there and, having
noticed the case is slightly thicker that front edge tried
fitting the base near the front rather than mid-way down
the edge as I had for the photos above. Doing this lets
the unit rest on its back corner and it actually seems more
stable like that.
