We made regular use of the original ScienceMark
for general system and particularly CPU performance tests and
version 2 maintains that tradition and even adds to it. Along
with bug fixes, a new interface and new tests comes a quick
and effective memory benchmark.
KX800-8X @ 266MHz DDR
KX800-8X @ 333MHz DDR
KX800-8X @ 400MHz DDR(2-3-3-6-1)
Memory Latency, Lower is Better
It should be quite apparent from the graph above
that 333MHz demonstrates by far the most consistent and generally
more effective latencies. Worrying is the regularity with which
memory latencies for 266MHz beat out those for 400MHz showing
just how much has been sacrificed to allow a wide range of DDR400
to be run with no standard to work to.
