BIOS Despite
its somewhat basic nature you can do quite a reasonable amount in the BIOS to
help boost performance. Before you get too excited let me say from the start that
overclocking is not an option unless you want to run a 100MHz FSB CPU at 133MHz
so if your plans were to run this box out of spec without resorting to a soldering
iron you're out of luck. Primary tweaks are linked to memory performance which
to be fair is where most performance gains come from anyway without overclocking.
Let's have a wander through.

Using
a stick of Corsair XMS3200 I was able to run at all system performance settings
from "Safe" through to "Ultra". Below the "System Performance"
option is where you set CAS latency and Command Rate.

In
such a relatively cramped system the ability to set a shutdown temperature brings
some peace of mind. Considering its aluminium construction the heat sink seemed
to do a rather impressive job of keeping temperatures reasonable on our 3.06.
