Configuring LCDC :::...

I won't go into too much depth here as there's a multitude of things you can twiddle, tweak and generally play with.

The main menu screen looks deceptively simple, it's clearly trying to lull me into a false sense of security.

LCDC Main

You start by hitting the "Configure/Test" option which takes you here:

Start with the two screens under "LCDD defaults". Most is self explanatory and you can set the "Display File" option to "mx2example" which loads some default options to get your display running. Later, if you define your own display options you can save them and load them later from there.

LCDC Defaults

Page two is more of the same and in most instances won't need changing.

Next is the "System Clock" screen where you can actually specify a time server for automatic updates.

Next is the screen where you can specify certain animated characters. Again most users won't need to change anything here.

Getting Started

Need a notification when you have a new email? You can configure that from the "E-Mail accounts" screen.

If you're not already thrilled (or confused" by all the options, how about adding more through the use of plugins? Many of the plugins need configuring and those that do can be set by clicking the "configure" icon at the top of the screen.

Getting Started

Of course I needed to set the 3DVelocity RSS feed from the RSS Plugin

And much as I'd like to pretend it was on the list by default, in reality I needed to set it up using the RSS feeds editor which is also part of the plugin.
