External Features:::…

The MuVo comes in a clear plastic wrapped package that shows the buyer which model they are purchasing.  Another useful feature of the clear packaging is that it allows the buyer to view the features and playtimes of the various types of MuVo players.

This is a front and back view of the package.

These are the contents of the package.

The package includes the player itself, a case with belt clip and shoulder strap, the earphones with dynamic bass response, a line-in cable and a USB cable.

The contents vary in different regions of the world.  The above are the contents for the European package.  In the Asian package, the case with belt clip is replaced by a neck cord and the earphones are listed as simple earphones without dynamic bass response.

Also included in the package are a manual, quick guide and the player software.

The player itself and the battery to power it.

Over here is where you put the battery in the player.

The battery is an AAA battery and it is used to power the USB flash drive. Depending on how you use it, the battery will supply power for approximately 15 hours.

If you turn up the volume or do a lot of recording, operating time will decrease because these activities will draw more power off of the battery.

Here is how the unit looks in the case with belt clip.

The case leaves the user plenty of room to easily plug in the cables, use it and pop it back out again.

Although the earphones are not extravagant, they are stylish and functional.

Usage:::…

For those of you who have read the V200 review earlier, you choose to skip ahead and see what the differences are between the V200 and N200, since most of the following is almost the same as the V200.

Let’s have a closer look at the features and go through them one by one.

I copied the below explanation of the functions from the manual, so you can see the different buttons and functions that are available on the device.

Like many portable audio devices, the scroller button has dual functions.

It is used to scroll up and down and through options from the menu.  You depress it to select something or jump into the menu.

The USB port is protected by a rubber cover or cap, to prevent dust to clog up in there.

The display has a nice backlight.  This makes it easy to read the display in dim lighting.

The display settings can be changed to fit a right or left handed person. This is something that not many companies consider when designing a device of this type.

Saving myself some time and trouble, I used the diagrams from the manual to take the below photos.

Here are some of the icons that are included in the menu.

Music
You can put MP3 or WMA files on the flash drive.
Uploading your music files is easily done. The USB flash drive has a USB 2.0 connector that allows a good transfer rate.

You can use the Media Source software that's included in the package. This software will be examined later in this review.
The Media Source software is basically a manager for your mp3 player.

The drive connects as a USB mass storage device. That means that no extra drivers are needed; and, you can easily drag and drop (or copy and paste) files onto the drive.
Using this feature, I was able to test the transfer rate of the USB flash drive.
