Installation:::…
Installation
is very easy. As
per manual, you first turn off the computer and plug-in
the USB connector to the charging base station.
The
charging base station needs an adapter, so we connect that
as well.
The
mouse features a lithium battery which needs to be charged
first, so the mouse initially goes in the charging base
station.
Then
we turn the computer on and Windows recognizes the mouse
by default. That
surprised me, but it’s a good surprise.
At
this point you can install the Logitech software that comes
with it if you wish. This
ensures a complete support of all its features.
There
is some negative discussion about that software with some
claiming it might be considered bloatware, inflating your
windows installation.
The
default mouse support is ample in most cases, the scroll
button works as standard, as do the back and forward thumb
buttons.
For
specific functions it is simple, you have to install the
Logitech software to set them up and use them.
The
installation is all pretty straightforward.
The
software includes, Logitech SetPoint, Logitech desktop manager
for auto updates, Music match and Realone Arcade.
Luckily
you can choose to not install the desktop manager, Music
Match and RealOne Arcade packages.
Setpoint
is the program to setup all your mouse needs.
Here
are some screenshots of Setpoint in action:

The
program has an intuitive feel and the settings are easily
adjusted. It
looks very similar to the mouse settings in the control
panel.
Usage:::…
I
first thought when I unpacked the mouse and placed it on
my desktop, that the mouse was heavy. This
is logical because the mouse has an internal rechargeable
battery.
The
mouse isn’t used for lifting so that doesn’t matter and
it moves over my desktop easily and smoothly.
It
has a nice shape and good grip, well shaped after your hand.
It
uses a laser to scan the surface it’s moving on, this increases
the resolution of the scans beyond that found in normal
optical mice. According
to Logitech the resolution is about 20 times better than
traditional LED powered optical mice.
Unlike
normal optical mice, this mouse doesn’t show any visible
light as it scans the surface.
