Then
we come to the third icon display the writing options.
Here
you can choose the disc-type, medium type, recording speed
and many other features you are used to have with burning
applications.
Most
of these options speak for themselves.
Moving
on the last icon, it’s the recording log.
This
log will display your burning session in great detail.
If
something should go wrong you can use this log to diagnose
the point of failure.
There
are some more icons just below the menu, some of which many
programs use in general, such as copy, paste, cut, new etc.
Also
some more specific to NeroLinux, from left to right as shown
in the picture below are:
- Import
last session from inserted disc.
- View
home directory contents.
-
Burn compilation.
- Copy
Disc.
- Disc
Information.
- Eject
current disc in recorder.
- Select
recorder.
There’s
only one icon left to discuss and it’s in the lower right
corner.
This
is the preview button, where you can drag music files/tracks
to, to preview them.
Of
course all these icons are reflected in the menu, they can
all be found there.
In
the menu you can also find, (quick) erase for RW media,
preferences and the system settings.
The
first thing I noticed when I started NeroLinux, is a missing
wizard.
Nero
for Windows has a small wizard that allows you to easily
select medium type, session type etc.
It’s
bothersome to some people and useful to others, I myself
find it useful.
It
is not a big problem; the wizard collects/reflects the same
settings as shown in the various icons/menu choices.
There
are not as many preferences as in Nero for Windows, but
here they are shown in the picture below.
Here
you can see or change your serial number, setup the temp
directories and various other settings.
Going
to the second tab, named file types.
Here
you see some filters used for various file types.
As
you can see you can add your own file types too.
The
third tab defines the audio system used.
Next
up is the miscellaneous tab.
