Packaging:::...

I know you don't care about the packaging but cut me a little slack here, there's only so many paragraphs of text you can write on a pair of memory modules!

As is now comon for memory, they come packed securely in your typical semi-rigid blister-pack. OCZ's corporate orange colour is supplied by the card insert that proudly shows off some of their plaudits on the rear.

Also on the front, though hardly in monster-sized fonts, is OCZ's lifetime warrant promise.

You better go dig out some gloves before you handle these beauties (no, I won't sink low enough to make a joke out of that last remark!).

These modules come decked out in mirror-smooth tin-plated real copper heat spreaders that add that ultimate touch of class. I don't in all honesty subscribe to the notion that heat spreader do much, if anything, to aid cooling of the chips other than to perhaps even out any hotspots a little, but without a doubt they look better, they're easier and safer to handle and they're more likely to survive a fall. On that basis give me heat spreaders every time.

The heat spreaders are affixed using adhesive double-sided thermal tape and a pair of spring retaining clips are fitted to each module for added security. The OCZ logo is pressed into the surface which a nice touch and clearly rubs a little salt into the wounds of those manufacturers who opt for generic, mass-market aluminium heat spreaders on their modules.

Okay, so we now know what it is and what it looks like, so perhaps it's time to see what it can do!
