Part Seven: Testing [1]

What else shows off your overclocked system like Sandra? I'm sure we are in for some impressive numbers here...

Sandra Benchmark
Pentium 4 2.53GHz @ 3.01GHz
CPU Benchmark
5783 MIPS
[Dhrystone ALU]

1572/3671 MFLOPS
[Whetstone FPU/SSE2]
CPU Multi-Media Benchmark
11968 it/s
[Integer]
14581 it/s
[Floating Point iSSE2]
Memory Benchmark
3355 MB/s
[RAM Int Buffered iSSE2]
3348 MB/s
[RAM Float Buffered iSSE2]

Very strong scores here, remember this kind of performance won't be available for some time without a system such as Prometeia.

NB: It would have been even more impressive to keep my RIMMS at 1066 but with a FSB of over 632QDR it would really take a magnificent stick, or rather two sticks, of ram to be stable at such a high frequency, still I can't help but dream...

I also used PCMark to check for stability and performance...

PCMark 2002
Pentium 4 2.53GHz
Pentium 4 2.53GHz @ 3.01GHz

I've included the result from a default Pentium 4 2.53GHz here so we can all clearly see the huge difference overclocking makes. With most printed media still regarding overclocking as something of a black art it is great to observe the increased performance. Systems such as Chip-Con's can only help further the image of overclocking throughout the wider-spread audience, which, in my opinion, is a very good thing indeed.
