Part Eight: Gaming Benchmarks
Although aging, Quake 3 still shows the
relative bandwidth and gaming performance we can expect
from this CPU. Two runs are included; firstly low details
at 640x480 to ensure the CPU is taking the workload and
the more standard 1024x768 Max' Details.

Quake 3 is very sensitive to frequency increases
and this is displayed perfectly here. Remember the memory
and FSB is also overclocked which is partly why we such
a good increase over both resolutions.
3DMark
2001 SE, and 3DMark 2000 great DX8 and DX7 based benchmarks
and another great indicator of system bandwidth and overall
performance. I expected great results here also...

The results speak for themselves in these
two excellent benchmarks. The already super-fast 2.53GHz
can be pushed to amazing speeds thanks to the extreme
cooling offered by Chip-Con's Prometeia system. Just how
fast can we in 3DMark 2001? Only time will tell but I
doubt we have seen anywhere near the top scores just yet.
We move to our final demonstration of power,
Jedi Knight II, on the next page...
