For those of you who haven't seen what
the new CATALYST 3.8 driver panels look like, here
they are. Although ATi's drivers have been solid for
a while now there was still a bit of a preschool feel
to some of the panels...no longer though. Also the
more complex options are hidden behind panels that
are far more user friendly. This kind of layered complexity
approach is something we've been calling for for a
while now though I still think it could go further.

You may have noticed the absence of
the much talked about "OverDrive" overclocking
feature. This we believe is scheduled for release
with CATALYST v3.9.
In terms of their quality when in use
the difference between today and the good ol' bad
ol' days is amazing. Despite the fact that even today
I hear people quoting the stock phrase that "ATi's
driver's aren't very good" the truth is that's
just plain wrong. ATi's drivers are fast, reliable
and generally very well crafted.
