Part One: Introduction
Technology moves quickly: the relentless
march of speed waits for no one but something else changes
to; brand loyalty. There as many fans of companies as
there are a similar number of opened mined users to whom
many factors play an equal part in purchase choice. But
the promise of speed and features is a little too much
for some and brand loyalty can change in an instant. We
have seen this change very recently in the memory sector.
A short time ago, SDR overclocking was the prime consideration
with Crucial providing the memory others were measured
against. Such names as Muskin dominated the overclocking
stores and people had their favorites. One thing remained
constant, Samsung
were relatively overlooked preferring to provide to the
OEM market without heavily promoting their products. And
so we see the shift. PC2700 seems to always be mentioned
in the same breath as Samsung
in today's market and rightly so if initial reports are
to be believed. Samsung
have made an excellent name for themselves by providing
some of the most tolerant memory available today, many
users are reporting huge overclocks so we decided to check
out just how good this memory really is!
Part Two: The PC27000 Memory

If your expecting multicolored heatspreaders
and bright lettering think again! Heat spreaders are proving
to be nothing but a marketing ploy and Samsung
have retained a traditional layout. This is serious memory
for serious performance!

A high standard of manufacturing quality
was certainly displayed by these sticks kindly sent by
Samsung.

On page two we will briefly outline the
main features in tabular form and then it's straight into
the main testing...
