Introduction:::...
Remember
the days when the definition of a PC was an expensive collection
of underpowered components thrust into a rather bland looking
beige coloured box? My how times change!
Well,
I say times of changed. We'll probably look back in a couple
of years and still think of today's cutting edge hardware
as being underpowered. And while nowhere near as expensive
as in years gone by, you can hardly class most PC hardware
as cheap.
What
has definitely evolved however is the case. You can still
buy dull, bland, utilitarian boxes if you look hard enough,
but they're now the exception rather than the rule.
Buying
the case is only half the story these days though, for many
people the next step is to add a window in the side panel
(if it didn't come with one), and create a lighting setup
inside that would make Pink Floyd jealous. Lighting is the
evolution of the custom case craze, and one without the
other is like bread without butter.
On
today's review agenda I have a small selection from the
simply massive range of case modding accessories and lighting
equipment available from one of the big names in the field,
SunbeamTech.
Based
in Taipei, Sunbeam have been manufacturing and distributing
specialised case modding and lighting equipment since 2000,
and since then they've developed a vast portfolio including
everything from Viking shaped thumb screws to complete cases,
from fan grills to case wraps.
So
here's the scenario. You've got your new window equipped
case ready to rock and you want to add some finishing touches
to lift it to the next level. Here's a few lighting ideas
worth heading out and buying to do just that.
