Chrystal
Quad LED Fan:::...
1.
Dimension: 80*80*25mm
2. Rated Voltage: 12V DC
3. Air flow: 32.5CFM
4. Speed: 2500RPM
5. Noise Level: 28.3dBA
6. Current draw: 0.13A
7. Power Consumption: 1.6W
Another
very simple way to add some internal lighting to your case
is to replace the conventional cooling fans with LED illuminated
units.

The
Packaging

Sunbeam's
Crystal Quad LED fans are transparent from the frame to
the fan blades with just a round sticker to hide the workings.
Personally I'd pull the sticker right off to display the
motor coil.

The
Fan
|
With
many LED fan manufacturers routing the power wires fround
the edge of the fan frame and then trying to protect it
with a tape, it's always reassuring to see a company route
them up the support arms instead. You get the sense they
were designed to be lit this way, plus there's theoretically
less chance of the wires getting damaged.

Four
LEDs are then glued in place one close to each corner.

Power
this time is supplied not only from a pass-thru 4-pin Molex
but alternatively by a 3-pin connector should you prefer.
This makes them great for connecting to your motherboard
header, or suitable for many of the fan controllers or Matrix
Orbital units available.
The
fan I tested didn't have the monitor wire for RPM sensing
but there was a tick box on the fan box for a speed monitoring
option so I assume it's available.

The
Pass-Thru Connector

Plug it in and the effect is stunning, as it is with most
lit fans.

The
Effect
|
The
light isn't as blue as some I've seen, but that's not necessarily
a criticism. The lighter shade has a colder, crisper feel
to it while the transparent blades make for a more uniform
spread of light than chrome effect blades do, though I quite
like both effects personally.

The
Effect

It's
hard to get too enthusiastic about LED fans with so many
on the market but if you need some these are as good as
any.
