Introduction:::…
As
the writing speed of writers increases so does the writing
speed of the optical media, it’s a logical consequence of
one and the other.
Demands
to meet the latest writing speeds are met and followed up
and are sometimes even ahead of hardware requirements.
So
today we try out new speed flavors, 16x DVD-R and 6x DVD-RW
media.
Ritek
Corporation in Taiwan is the manufacturer of optical storage media and was
founded in 1988. They supplied large OEM companies
like Philips, TDK, FUIJ and Traxdata.
In
2001 Traxdata was taken over by Ritek who kept the brand
name to sell their own optical storage products.
Conrexx
Europe was founded in that same year as a European headquarters
and place of business for Ritek.
Traxdata
has undergone a real metamorphosis since the take over by
Ritek.
Every
new optical storage technologic breakthrough will now first
be marketed under the Traxdata name.
Traxdata
was the first to market 8x media (+ and – media), also the
first to market the 16x DVD+R media and the first to market
the DVD+R DL media.
Also
the color schemes of the packages have undergone some changes.
Conrexx
Europe was so kind as to provide us with DVD-R and DVD-RW
media for testing purposes.
