If you're not used to working with a tablet it's easy to assume the working area of the Volito, that's the darker rectangle in the middle with the horizontal lines, is too small to be useful but as soon as you start working with it you realise this isn't the case.
The metallic dark silver/gray looks elegant and the curved lower edge makes the tablet more comfortable for prolonged use. Personally I'd invest in a gel wrist pad for heavy use but try it first and see how you get on.
The tablet has a protective clear plastic shell which can't be removed but which does make cleaning a lot simpler and safer.

Being powered from the USB port, a possible consideration if you're using an un-powered USB hub with other demands on it, there are no rechargeable batteries to worry about as there was with the Graphire.

This means the tablet can be made ridiculously thin. I'd like to see WACOM develop a protective cover for the Volito that lets you use it as mouse pad when it's not in use. You could probably use it as-is but I'd sooner have something between the two to ward off scratches.

Small rubber pads keep the tablet in place and should be fine as there's no real lateral forces during use to set it sliding.
