The pen is in some ways better than that bundled with the Graphire and in some ways worse. It detects the same 512 pressure levels and also comes with two programmable switches on the side of the barrel. What it lacks however is the eraser function on the top.

Compensating for this to some degree is the rubberized barrel which is much more comfortable to grip than the smooth plastic barrel on the Graphire's pen.
In some ways I prefer the idea of two individual switches to a single rocker switch in that the gap between the two becomes a natural parking place for your thumb, for me at any rate.

The same metallic dark gray/silver finish is used for the pen keeping things nicely hanging together aesthetically.
