The
installation CD comes with the drivers, Zen Micro Media
Explorer, Media Source and Windows Media Player 10.
To
enable the use of Zen Micro player you have to install a
driver.
This
will allow you to connect to it, as you would to a flash
drive and drag and drop files on it.
A
neat little icon will appear in your drives section.
Because
this is a proprietary driver, I couldn’t test it with SiSoft
Sandra.
The
installation CD installs the driver as part of the other
software, but you can get the driver for the Zen separate
from the website.
Once
the driver is installed it’s you can choose to install Zen
Micro Media explorer and/or Creative Media Source.
Zen
Micro Media Explorer helps you organize songs and playlists,
and easily transfer media files between your portable audio
player and Windows Explorer with its Drag-and-Drop feature.
You
can transfer albums and songs from CDs to your Zen player
in MP3 or WMA format with the Audio CD Ripper. And pre-listen
to songs streaming from the player on your PC before transferring
them to your computer's music library.
Synchronize
your music, data files and even contacts and calendar appointments
from Microsoft Outlook with your player, so you'll never
miss out on your favorite tune or forget that important
appointment.
Importing
music is easy to do. You
simply look for the files or folders, select them and add
them.
Organizing
and transferring data to and from the Zen using the explorer
is done by the simple Windows file explorer. That’s simple
yet effective.
Make play lists with the aid of this wizard.
Synchronizing
music and Outlook data between your Zen and computer is
easily done with this sync manager.
First
it will ask you which music needs to be synchronized.
Then
it will ask you which contact data you want to synchronize.
After
which you can configure the synchronization as well.
The
final action will be the synchronization itself.
As
with all portable audio players, Creative has bundled Media
Sourcewith this player.
A
lot of SoundBlaster cards also have this software bundled
with it, in this case there are some additional drivers
added with the Media Source bundle.
Media
Source comes with three programs, Media Source audio converter,
MS player and MS organizer.
